Tangible Rewards
tan.juh.bl ruh.vawds
Material rewards that a manager or employer gives an employee for achieving something or meeting a goal.
Linked closely to extrinsic motivation (which is all about working towards an outcome), tangible rewards are key drivers of an employee’s drive to go above and beyond at work. Unlike intangible rewards, tangible ones tend to yield greater goal commitment and better overall performance.
Great organisations always offer a blend of both tangible and intangible rewards to their employees and research suggests that both are equally necessary for long-term happiness at work.
