Sensitivity Training
sen.suh.tiv.uh.tee trei.ning
A form of emotional training that is aimed at making employees more aware of their biases and prejudices so that they are able to practice sensitivity towards others.
An integral part of an organisation’s overall strategy, sensitivity training promotes an inclusive and diverse working culture. Employees are usually brought together in an open and safe space to enhance their knowledge about bias, attitudes and behaviours that may unwittingly cause offense to people around them.
While the idea of treating everyone with fairness and respect may sound simple, sensitivity training is an essential component in creating a more equitable workplace.
